Donated to Mart by the artist in 2019 together with a hundred or so works of art and a book collection, these papers comprise professional correspondence dating to the 1976-2006 period, various documents typewritten by Pignotti (above all drafts of books and articles for publishing in journals), photographs of work and performances as well as documents verging on art works. These include various graphic experiments and 23 art books in unique piece.

This book collection supplements the bibliography on and by Pignotti already present in Archivio del ‘900 with around sixty publications. It includes exhibition catalogues, poetry work both conventional and experimental, printed art books, certain periodicals and a range of essays highlighting Pignotti’s literary criticism and semiotics work as well.
