In the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation, from an idea developed by the Trento Film Festival, the Mart, the MUSE and the Festival itself join forces and bring Sebastião Salgado's major new exhibition project to Trentino. The Mart is presenting an unprecedented comparison between two of the greatest protagonists of Magic Realism, a movement that spread throughout Europe from the early 1920s: the Dutch Pyke Koch and the Italian Cagnaccio di San Pietro, already well represented in the Mart’s collections and exhibitions. The Mart presents the first Italian exhibition of contemporary artist Li Yongzheng, born in 1971 in Bazhong, a village in the rural province of Sichuan, is being presented in Rovereto | Mart Rovereto, 12 Apr - 21 Sep 2025

With its forests, castles, glaciers and vineyards, Trentino is home to landscapes and stories, nature and industry, panoramic views and relationships. To recount this complexity, an invitation was extended to six renowned professional photographers whose work ranges from art to reportage and photojournalism: Simone Bramante, Francesco Jodice, Gabriele Micalizzi, Roselena Ramistella, Massimo Sestini and Newsha Tavakolian.
