Bentivoglio was an exponent of verbo-visual art and a poetess. The papers arrived together with a group of works donated by the artist, and document the work of some women artists active since the 1960s.

This is a 238-volume book and pamphlet collection containing work published from 1962 to 2010 documenting visual poetry, verbo-visual experimentation and women’s art, themes which Mirella Bentivoglio enquired widely into and promoted. Her writings and a collection of seventy art books by women artists forms the collection's central nucleus.
