T

en years after her death, the Mart is dedicating an in-depth exhibition to Claudia Gian Ferrari (1945-2010), a historian and gallery owner who helped spearhead the promotion of twentieth-century Italian art.
The project's key focus is a series of works by Fausto Melotti, which were donated to the Mart by Gian Ferrari and officially joined the museum collections in 2011. It features around thirty glazed terracotta pieces made by the Trentino artist between the 1930s and 1960s.
The exhibit will also feature a selection of paintings from the Mart Collections, which either once belonged to Gian Ferrari's private collection or were exhibited in shows she curated. On display are works by Umberto Boccioni, Filippo de Pisis, Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Felice Casorati, Leonardo Dudreville, Achille Funi, Piero Marussig, Fausto Pirandello and Mario Sironi.
